ICFAI Law Schoolorganizes orientation program for young Advocates

ICFAI Law School

The ICFAI Law School of ICFAI University, Hyderabad in collaboration with the Bar Council of AP organized a three day, Residential Orientation Program the LAWVIS 2016 for young Advocates of AP and Telangana Statesfrom 1st May to 3rd May 2016, at the University Campus, Shankerpally Road. About 200 practicing Advocates from the twin cities and other places of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh participated in the program.

The Chief Guest Hon’ble Sri Justice A V Seshasai, Judge, High Court of Judicature at Hyderabad, during his address at the inaugural session, said it is essential for young lawyers to consider and incorporate the ideas of legal profession. He encouraged the organizers to conduct many more similar programs to bridge the gap between legal education and profession.

Sri A Narasimha Reddy, Chairman, Bar Council of AP in his presiding note said that the legal profession is a noble profession and one  has to remember the elder generation about their hard work, commitment, knowledge and experience. He encouraged the young lawyers to attend such orientation programs regularly and sincerely carry forward the legal legacy of the social engineers.

Participants

Sri Ganta Rama Rao, Senior Advocate and Member, Bar Council of AP and Coordinator of the LAWVIS 2016appraised the participants on the theme and purpose of the program. “The Program would update the knowledge and experiences of the senior and renounced resource persons.” He advised the young advocates about the importance of communication skills, balancing between the personal and professional life, time management, commitment of service etc. While signifying the Law Profession and the orientation program he cited Benjamin Franklin quotation “tell me and I forget, teach me and I may remember, involve me and I learn”.

Topics covered in the Sessions:

The Program consisted of 13 sessions spread across 3 days namely,  Original side proceedings of High Court, A way to professionalism, Procedures and practices in Motor Accident Claims, Stress Management, Salient Features of Direct Tax Litigation, Specific Performance of Contract Analytical approach, Procedural Law on Criminal Side, Journey of a Lawyer-Cchallenges, Transfer of Property :Visa-Vis Title Examination, Case Management, Professional satisfaction and responsibilities,Appreciation of Oral Evidence in Criminal Cases and Documentary evidence in CvilCases, Litigation of service tax in India. The Valedictory Event was addressed by Justice P.NaveenRao on the 3rd day of the event.
